Cancer Genomics Workshop

On June 15th, 2018, Genomics Into Medicine, in conjunction with Genomics Aotearoa, held a cancer genomics workshop attended by clinicians, scientists and medical genetics specialists from throughout New Zealand. Experts in the field, including Professor Stephen Fox (Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Australia), discussed scientific and clinical aspects of genomic changes in cancer and the laboratory and bioinformatic processes required for next-generation sequencing and interpretation of cancer genomes. Industry representatives provided vignettes of technologies available in cancer genomics and indicated new developments on the horizon. Workshop participants were also able to work through several examples where they interpreted cancer next-generation sequencing data, using some of the tools available at the links given below.
